How FantaSheet works: data sources, updates and projections
Where every number on FantaSheet comes from: official EuroLeague and Liga Endesa box scores, domestic leagues, prices and injuries, how often they update, and how we check our expected points (xPTS).
Sources
- EuroLeague: official box scores with every category, including fouls drawn and blocks against. Such a box score is marked full.
- Liga Endesa: official ACB game sheets, checked line by line against the official rating.
- Domestic leagues, cups and preseason: sheets from clubs, organisers and public live-score providers. A missing stat is marked partial and never filled with a zero (why N/A and not 0).
- Prices and positions: the official game ones. After each round they are applied with the official formula (how prices change), checked against the prices the league publishes.
- Injuries: club press releases and specialised media, with the source stored for every report.
Updates
On game days EuroLeague box scores are checked every 15 minutes. A live game shows as partial until it ends. Prices change automatically once every game of the round has an official box score.
Fantasy points (FPT)
EuroLeague Fantasy points are the game PIR plus 10% of its absolute value when his team wins. That is what the game scores and what we use everywhere on the site (prices, team of the round, xPTS).
Projections (xPTS)
xPTS are the Fantasy points we expect from each player in his next game. They account for his minutes and output this season, injured teammates, what the opponent concedes in each stat, home court, the chance of winning and what his price says. Every projection is stored before the game and compared with the real result afterwards.
Round data is public: team of the round and price changes, with a CSV download.
